There are several different car covers available. We believe they are vital wherever you are storing your vehicle.

Outdoor - these should be waterproof and have straps to secure it to the car. The main concern with these is that they do not allow the car to 'breathe' and should be removed periodically to allow any trapped moisture to be dried. The other concern is that if outside, it is going to get blown around by the wind. The problem with this is that it could potentially chafe and rub on the bodywork, damaging it.

Indoor - Within this category there are several variants and options. The main one to consider is that it must be breathable. This allows any moisture to be drawn away from the car and not let it sweat. No cover is better than one which does not breathe.

Decorators dust cover/cotton sheet - Tend to be of an open weave allowing dust through and onto the car beneath. Due to being cotton these can also become damp, which isn't good for the car beneath.

Semi-fitted indoor breathable, single layer - This type of cover look fairly good on the car, offer a very good level of dust protection and allow the car to breathe.

Semi-fitted indoor breathable, double layer - Same as the above but with a top breathable layer to stop dust but allows moisture through from the car. It also has a lower soft or 'fluffy' layer which is kind to the paintwork. Windrush Car Storage recommends this as the most suitable type of car cover for all round performance.

Fully fitted - These look sensational on the car, as they follow all the curves and contours. They tend to be expensive as they're tailored to each car shape. These tend not to be good at keeping dust off the bodywork, as fabric is stretched to follow the contours and the weave of the material allows dust particles through.
